Private Patient Advocacy for You and Your Family

Offering healthcare expertise, personal guidance and peace of mind.

What is a private nurse navigator / patient advocate?

Nurse advocates provide a range of services aimed at supporting patients and their families in navigating the healthcare system, understanding medical information, and advocating for their rights. If you can’t get help, we can get you the help you need.

Who provide the services offered?

All services provided are coordinated by Wendy Richmond, RN. She is a multi-state approved registered nurse with diverse experience in acute inpatient rehabilitation, travel nursing to magnet hospitals for both orthopedic and pcu units on the gulf coast of Florida, and RN Trainer through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.

How much will it cost? Will my insurance pay for services?

Services are billed at an hourly rate and are not covered by most companies.

How does eorthfolc.org differ from other advocates?

As private nurses the services provided to our clients are private in nature and are non-adversarial in coordinating with your existing healthcare services. Other advocates/navigators employed by hospitals or other facilities are helpful resources but are limited by who pays their wages. They ultimately have a built-in allegience to their employer. We work exclusively for you and your family, alone.

What locations do you serve?

In most cases, we can work remotely to coordinate services, insurance billing issues, and more. If you should need in-person hand holding service in the hospital, nursing home or at home, we serve Central Ohio. As a member of national advocacy associations we can help meet your needs anywhere in the United States.

Can your staff provide medical advice or treatment?

No, we act as your health advocate or navigator in coordination with your medical providers. All medical knowledge, authority, and advice must come from the client’s healthcare providers and medical care team. No medical advice or treatment is rendered to the client by the advocate. Our staff does not diagnose but can arrange for a home health nurse to administer prescribed medications.

How can (eorthfolc) private nurses help me or my family member?

We are able to provide medical interpretation, guidance, and support services in various capacities. These include, but are not limited to, accompanying clients to medical appointments, surgery, ER visits, and hospitalization. Note that we do not provide emergency transportation or treatment.

We can also transport client’s to and from outpatient surgery as needed. Ask how we can help you find a caregiver stay overnight to help with reminders to take eye drops, medications, etc.
